Weekend Recap

And like that we have one last day in July – boo. We have been enjoying summer so much that I cannot even think of it not being summer these days!

Friday

I ran after work and got caught in some rain so settled on 7km and headed home. Later we had my family over for my Mom’s birthday.

Saturday

We ran errands in the morning, came home for lunch and nap time then headed to the beach. The usual beach we go to was full but that was lucky since we headed to another that was less busy and spent a few hours there. My Mom joined us as well as a bunch of Chad’s family. It worked out that they were all out at their cabin and camping at the lot so they all came then we headed back to the cabin and stayed for the evening. It was the perfect day!

Chloe beach ready:

Typical I forgot to get a photo of me!

We got home about 9pm and while I wanted to put the girls right to bed they needed baths bad! Baths it was then bed for us all!

Sunday

We are down to the last two Sundays of long runs for Sea Wheeze! And guess what!? We ran a fast 15km and forgot a photo! Chloe and I snapped a photo after while Chad and Avery was grabbing coffee:

We did not have afternoon plans but my Grandma fell last week so we went out to see how she was doing. We are pretty sure she broke she arm and is banged up but she will be okay ๐Ÿ™‚

By the time we got home it was supper and then dessert outside:

Four more days of work and then we are on holidays!!

Foodie Friday

So I meant to post this week and then didn’t – oops. To be honest the next couple weeks won’t be much better as we are on holidays right away.

First thing first though – Since today is my Mom’s birthday – Happy Birthday Mom!! – Let’s hope she is actually reading this now ๐Ÿ˜‰

This eek has been another HOT one. But I will never complain about the hot weather (AC perks y’all). Monday I have no idea what we did, Tuesday I convinced Chad to got for a run as a family to make a video for a local race:

Wednesday we were having a rough go after work and supper so headed to the park to wear off some steam.

Then I headed back out to meet some friends to work on more videos . Side note – locals check out the Chocolate Chase race, I promise you will not be disappointed!!

And last night I did a workout while being attacked by Chloe and sat down to do this post in the lovely AC with some kombucha. Adult life at the best ๐Ÿ˜‰

So onto meal planning.

Saturday –ย Supper at the lake with Chad’s family

Sunday – Thai Peanut Chicken Quinoa Bowls – Iowa Girl Eats

Monday –ย Chicken Smokies & Summer Pasta Salad with Tomatoes and Zucchini – Skinny Taste

Tuesday – Dinner at a friend’s house

Wednesday-ย Grilled Chicken & The Best Kale Summer Salad – Balanced Berry

Thursday – Salmon Tacos with Mango Salsa

Friday – HOLIDAYS!!

This weekend I am hoping to get to the beach, spend time with family and that is about it ๐Ÿ™‚

Weekend Recap

I hope you are all ready for a photo dump, I took one too many photos this weekend ๐Ÿ˜‰

Friday

Nothing too exciting, I got in a good 7km run once Chloe was in bed. I tried out Tiux compression socks on my run – can you believe I have never tried any before?!

I worried I might feel too hot in the socks but not at all and they fit perfectly (I am wearing a XS) – Tiux is giving my readers 25% off until July 31 using the promo code ARUNNINGTALE – so check them out if you want to try or need compression socks ๐Ÿ™‚

Saturday

The typical morning of Costco & errands. Avery spent more of her hard earned money at Costco and got this doll. I never knew one could need so many dolls. Sigh.

Miss. Chloe helping me out with a fun little projects I did (more on this soon!).

After naps we headed out to take the mandatory canola field photos, Avery had been asking and the fields looked at their peak so we jumped at the chance.

Photo overload!

Avery’s dress is from Finn & Grin and Chloe’s Shorts are Prairie Mountain & Co

We came home and set up the pool. Chad may have chased Avery with the hose a few times ๐Ÿ˜‰

We had an early supper so my Mom could come over to babysit while we headed to the fair to see a concert. The opener was Jocelyn Alice and then Coleman Hell – who we went to see but we ended up liking Jocelyn Alice more!

We stayed a bit after to have mini donuts and watch the fireworks before going home.

Sunday

We started our run early to spend the day at the fair, we are starting to decrease our long run distance now so did 16km.

We were done by 10am, came home, cleaned up, ate and head to the fair for the day.

Avery did almost all the rides she could, we visited the barn animals, played one game and had our share of treats. Four hours later the clouds rolled in but Avery said she was ready to go home anyways so we headed home.

Chloe was a tad excited for the rides. Next year should be fun when they both can go on them, if Chloe will stay on a ride ๐Ÿ˜‰ Kid cannot stay still!

Family photo minus Chloe who was alseep:

I am always a tad sad to see fair week go since it is so fun but we still have a lot of summer fun left!

Foodie Friday

Ever have weeks that you feel completely behind? That is my week! No idea why but I seem to be scrambling a lot.

It is fair week here which means pancake breakfasts, the parade, BBQs and lots of fun ๐Ÿ™‚

Monday night we went to the park, we had not been out after supper in awhile and it is good to break out of the house after supper sometimes!

Wednesday morning my office was closed and my Mom and I took the girls to the parade – as you already saw ๐Ÿ˜‰

Last night I planned to go for a run, got on my running clothes butย Mother Nature had other plans so an at home workout it was. My knee is getting extra rest ๐Ÿ˜‰

And that brings us to today! And meal planning.

Saturday – Greek Chicken Kababs with Rice – Cooking Classy

Sunday – FAIR

Monday – Recovery Quinoa Salad (Run Fast, Eat Slow cookbook) & Smokies

Tuesday – Bison burgers & Bocconcini Salad – Happy Holigans

Wednesday –ย Chicken Fajitas

Thursday – Pancakes, turkey bacon and fruit

Friday -Taco Salad

This weekend we are heading out to the fair a couple times, Saturday night for a date night & concert and Sunday for family day with the girls. Avery loves rides so I cannot wait to take her!

Enjoy your weekends!

Three Things Thursday

Just some random thoughts to share today:

1- As much as I wish I had more posts to share with you all these days I just don’t. But I kinda like it too. I promised myself less pressure this summer to blog and so far have done good. If I have things to share great, if not – great too! I love using this blog as a way to look back so weekend recaps are important to keep up for me and well Foodie Friday is a no brainer ๐Ÿ˜‰

2 – This week my favourite week of the summer because it is the local fair. It really is 5 days of fun, pancake breakfasts, BBQ lunches, the parade, fair, concerts and more. You bet we are going to everything we can!

We enjoyed the parade yesterday morning:

Trying to get a photo before the parade:

3 – I have not had any running injuries/pains in over 7 years and Sunday’s long run did me in. I woke up Monday limping with a pain on my outer knee. I got into my chiropractor that afternoon and he said my tibia was rotated so adjusted it and I had almost instant relief – along with taking the day off from running and ice on and off I was good Tuesday ๐Ÿ™‚ Phew – less than three weeks until Sea Wheeze!

What is your favourite thing about fair week?
