Foodie Friday

Happy Friday! The longer days this week have been the best – I feel like a new person when it is still light out at 7:30pm and the girls are going to bed!

Playing in our bed before stories 🙂

We also got out for a walk Wednesday night, it looked beautiful out but there was a cold wind! We did no last long since none of us were dressed for it – oops!

I am getting back into workouts with BBG workouts, spin & yoga. Unfortunately I have strained my foot so running is off the table right now – I am sure some rest & TLC and I will be as good a new 😉

Moving onto meal planning!

Saturday –  Chicken Fajitas

Sunday – Thai Peanut Chicken Quinoa Bowls – Iowa Girls Eats

Monday – Penne with Spinach and Chicken Sausage – Savy Saving Couple

Tuesday – Honey Garlic Chicken Stir-fry – Dinner at the Zoo

Wednesday – Greek turkey burgers & sweet potato fries

Thursday – Slow Cooker Cilantro Lime Chicken Tacos – Belle of the Kitchen

Friday – Pizza night!

This weekend I finally can get to another Pound class taught by Becky and then my Mom and I had plans to go to Ikea out of town but I think Mother Nature might have other plans for us!

Spring Loves

So while the first day of Spring is not for another 6 days I am in full out Spring mode. Oue weather has been much better (knock on wood), I want to do all the spring cleaning and the extra daylight hours in the evening make me too darn happy.

A few other things I am loving:

Trader Joes Matcha Tea Latte mix – I was introduced to this on holidays and now sad I did not buy more to come home with me!

Spring & Easter decor – I wish I had more, but alas less is more, right?? Anyways, we put up the few things we do have and it has me excited for Easter in a couple weeks!

Having fresh flowers in the house is my favourite!

Collagen – I added this into my diet a couple months ago and love it. Not only does it help your skin, hair and nails but also your joint health –> why I started taking it in marathon training! I had a noticeable difference in join aches after using it regularly. I have this flavoured one as well as a plain one we put in our morning coffee.

Masks – After holidays my skin was so dry and uneven from the sun I decided to try a couple masks and might be addicted now! I have to admit the sheet masks are not my thing but I really like the yes to masks.

New (to me) workouts – I have looked at Kayla Itsines workouts for awhile now and finally signed up for a trial. I am not sure I will continue yet but love how the program is designed so far. I am actually ready to get back into other workouts and take a running break for the next 6 weeks.

Easter crafts – Michaels pre-packaged crafts are usually my go to for holidays but a friend told me about these eggs a few years ago that makes it easier for kids to decorate! Egg decorating is  MUST do for me!

Weekend Recap

This weekend made spring feel too close! So we decorated the house for Easter, and spent time outside 🙂

We had a movie night and watched Coco. We really liked it, Avery was not sure – she is not a movie fan these days!

I went to a morning spin class, then the afternoon was spent at a friend’s for a bonfire. The girls loved playing in the sun & snow and seeing chickens – city girls 😉

We got home for a small supper after snacks all afternoon. We all were in bed early that night!

We had a busy day! Morning workouts – where Chloe kept telling me to “stop” for every reason under the sun. Then some errands, cleaning, a few spring organizing projects, baking, a visit with my Grandma and anything to keep Chloe out of trouble 😉

I only took one photo all day!

We are finishing off our weekend with wine & Big Brother – back to work tomorrow for a full week of work, it will be my first 5 day work week in five weeks – eek!

Foodie Friday

It has been a bit but I am back with a Foodie Friday post 🙂 We got home late Wednesday (midnight) and woke up Thursday to no food – fail on my part! A few hours of grocery shopping later and we are good to go!

Backing up a few days (and more!) to share more from our trip. The last couple of days were spent in the sun and pool. Avery is a fish now and Chloe warmed up to the pool.

Heading to the airport!

I also finally got the photos off my camera, so here are some I had to share:

Okay onto meal planning!

Friday – Chicken Smokies & Quinoa Salad

Saturday – Black Bean burgers & salad

Sunday – Bruschetta Grilled Chicken Bowls – Whitney Bond

Monday – Vegetarian Spaghetti – Family Food on the Table

Tuesday – Slow Cooker African Peanut Stew – The Girl on Bloor

Wednesday –  Vegan Mediterranean Wraps & sweet potato fries – The Stingy Vegan

Thursday – Slow Cooker Pork Banh Mi Rice Bowls – Skinnytaste

Friday – Chicken Spinach Flatbread – Valentina’s Corner

We don’t have much for weekend plans, spin class, visit with friends and family – and finally no marathon training!

We have had a great ten days down here so I thought it was time to check-in 😉

I don’t even know where to start! We have had many pool days, Target trips, sun tanning, visits with friends, zoo trips, Disneyland and more!

Caution photo overload ahead! I have not had time to edit any so these are straight off my camera and phone.

We have a pool in the area we are in, which is super nice and easy to get to. Avery finally got comfortable with water wings and swims all over the place by herself now!

Chloe likes to run in and out of the pool and be trouble but that is okay too 😉

We have spent a tad too much time sun tanning!

We took a three day road trip to see friends in California, the four hour drive went pretty good – no tears! It was a great couple of days with them, all the kids got all SO well, and catching up with our friends was long overdue – we only see each once a year usually!

We decided last minute to surprise the girls last Thursday and go to Disneyland for the day since we were only 40 minutes away. Avery did not believe us at first – we waited to tell her until we were at the parking area!

The day went great, we got on a ton of rides, got character photos, and had no meltdowns.

We left the park around 6pm but had over a five hour drive home in rush hour traffic so we got back really late but it was worth it!

The last few days were a bit more low key, more pool days, a zoo trip and relaxing before we head home to the snow in a few days.

I will be back with Foodie Friday this week – finally!
