Currently Loving

It has been awhile since I have shared some fun things I am loving and using these days!

I found these Clif bars in Phoenix and loved them but had no hope we would have them here but I was wrong and we do now!

So I am working hard on some makeup skills, okay not really but I am trying… mainly when it comes to my eyebrows and eye makeup. I finally bought eyebrow gel (key!) and replaced my really old eyeshadow palette with this new one.

In Phoenix Chad’s Step-Mom had these Re-Play plates for the girls and we loved them so I got some for our girls for their Easter baskets.

Funny story, I was taking photos for this post and had the plates out. Avery was upstairs (or so I thought), and I was putting away the plates when she came down the stairs… “Mom, I saw something pink and purple on grey table, what was it?” “Nothing” I replied. “I know you are hiding something, you can tell me you know”. haha. I then changed the subject but now I am sure she will realize it at Easter so might need to say they are from me versus the Easter bunny.

I have become jar obsessed in my pantry and now have a whole shelf of jars – after all they just look prettier and more organized. These ultraviolet glass jars by Infinity Jars are perfect for storing dry foods, they are airtight, lightproof, leak proof and smell proof!

I have two sizes, the 150mL and 500mL – both are screw top making them the perfect choice for storing spices and other bulk foods. I love that they also preserve the freshness of the foods as well. I think these would be great for storing herbs and coffee for this reason!

Spring! Spring arrived Monday and well I am a tad happy 😉 I am ready to spend more time outside without a million layers on.

I have been drinking more tea lately, and this one is my current obsession. No idea what I will do once it is gone, Trader Joes come north!!

Weekend Recap

This weekend felt like Spring! It was so nice to be able to be outside more and actually be warm!

Friday

My Mom joined us for supper (Subway) then came over so we (I mean her) could work on the teepee for the girls more. After she left Chad and I caught up on Big Brother.

Oh and it was St. Patrick’s Day! The best we could do before work…

Saturday

Our day: Morning Costco trip – a (mucky) walk outside – cleaned out the garage and cars – family movie night.

Avery wore this necklace around her head all morning:

Sunday

I wanted to run outside but we had booked Avery into yoga since she did not go last Sunday and it would be tight for time running outside so I opted for This Is Us and 8km on the treadmill.

During yoga I caught up on my latest book club book, I just got it and have until Thursday to read it!

Chloe was grumpy after a short morning nap and thankfully she napped for 2.5 hours in the afternoon. I did chores then Avery and I played outside until Chloe got up and she joined us.

Chloe getting into trouble, as usual 😉

The rest of the day was spent blogging, doing laundry and relaxing!

Foodie Friday

From our week…

I am pretty sure both my spin teach Wednesday and yoga teacher Thursday tried to break me. Needless to say today was a rest day 😉

Avery and I working out Tuesday night. She asked to stay up a little so I had to workout with me, she lasted 10 minutes and went to bed 😉

I chopped my hair off!

Chad tried to tell me Chloe was dressed like a boy one day so I put her in a purple cardigan:

Like Avery she is always mistaken for a boy, I swear unless they are wearing pink with bows in the hair people think they are boys.

We spent some time outside yesterday after work since it was so nice out, Avery was not sure about puddles at first but then got into it:

Chloe is so crazy before bed, it makes story time interesting these days 😉

Onto meal planning!

Saturday – Chicken Fajitas

Sunday – Chipotle Sweet Potato Turkey Burgers (Well Plated by Erin) & salad

Monday – Thai Peanut Chicken Quinoa Bowls – Iowa Girl Eats (using shrimp instead)

Tuesday – Pineapple Glazed Salmon (Well Plated by Erin), roasted broccoli & rice

Wednesday – Breakfast for supper! Pancakes, turkey bacon & fruit

Thursday – Easy Lo Mein – Damn Delicious

Friday – Pesto Chicken Pizza

Not too many weekend plans, hopefully some time spent outside in the sun, taking Avery to yoga and the usual weekend chores and errands.

Three Things Thursday

1- Have you heard about the Alberta Blog Squad? A few friends started up this awesome idea for Alberta-based bloggers, follow us on Instagram here and Twitter here for more info!

2 – Chloe has started pouting when we tell her no (which is 100 times a day) and flops down to the floor in silence. I guess it is better than screaming?

PS – How cute are her overalls?!

3 – In an attempt to “Spring” up the house I bought a few new pieces and updated this area in the kitchen. It is okay but not 100% yet, I am SO indecisive with home decor.

That is all I got for today 🙂

Chloe – 11 Months

I do not know how we got here already, but Chloe is ONE in less than a month!

She officially has passed Avery at this age in growth and with her eating habits we bug Avery she will be bigger than her in no time 😉

Loves:

  • Making a mess
  • Getting into cupboards
  • Music
  • Her walker
  • Cheerios

Dislikes:

  • Getting into her caarseat – once she is in she is okay
  • When you tell her no – she throws her head down and screams at you

Eating:

We are entering a huge transition phase as we have to cut down her bottles (5 a day still) and move her to (lactose free) milk. Hopefully next month I have a good update on this. She loves all food unless she is teething, then she only wants soft foods.

Sleeping:

She naps 2-3 times a day but I am guessing soon she can go with two good naps, morning and afternoon. She goes to bed at 7:30pm and sleeps until 6-6:30am.

Milestones:

  • First trip and time on the airplane! She did pretty good considering this age is the hardest I think to travel with as they do not sit still.
  • Climbing stairs
  • Says “mama” “yeah” , “yumm” and shakes her head for “no”
  • I think she has 6 teeth…

Chloe is so busy, and loves to get into everything. She keeps us all on our toes these days but it is so much fun watching her little personality these days, she can be quite the attention seeker to random strangers and loves all the attention she gets from being a goof.
