Baby K-2 – Weeks 27 & 28

What is Baby K up to? She is starting to develop more fat and is probably over 2lbs!

How am I doing? Not bad, I feel much more done with pregnancy this time around, with Avery I really had it easy or maybe I just had a lot more chances to rest! I am doing good still, just the normal pregnancy aches and pains 🙂

Weight gained: 12.5bs. For comparison this is the exact same gain as with Avery but the scale number is 5-6lbs lower since I weighed less this time when I got pregnant. I am guessing I will still gain up to the same scale number (132lbs) with this baby as with Avery so my pregnancy weight gain might be higher this time around.

Workouts: No change here really, 4-5 a week, of the same things BUT I did want to talk more about working out in pregnancy. I was enlightened after I attended a yoga class with a new to me instructor.

I am one to over think everything all the time. My mind can really get the best of me. But in this pregnancy I have learned to quiet my mind a lot better and listen to my body. This has allowed me to continue running as well as my yoga practice with only minor adjustments. I have really found that trusting my body to tell me when to back off has allowed me to do things I might have usually stopped by now thinking I should not do them. I do realize there is a fine line here and this is not about pushing myself in any sense. Our bodies are so smart, and they are capable of so much more than most of us know or realize – usually because our minds get in the way! I can say for certain that in the past 5 years I have accomplished so much physically that I would have never in a million years thought I could have without simply trusting my body – pregnant and not. So the next time your mind gets in the way, trust your body and the signals it sends you on what you should versus should not do, and I know you will surprise yourself 🙂

Movement: Yup, ALL day long!

Food Aversions/Cravings: Nothing really!

Sleep: I would like 9 a night but probably getting 7-8 if I do not wake up in the middle of the night.

Stretch marks? Nope.

Miss Anything? Just feeling not pregnant!

Maternity Clothes: Still a mix of both. I hate maternity pants and panels in general so at home spent a lot of time in yoga and sweat pants.

Baby Items Purchased: C’s crib sheets, which I will share once we move and start to set up the nursery and a few small nursery items. I am trying not to shop a lot until after the move.

Other Things from the Week: I have another ultrasound booked and my surgery consult for the end of February, which makes things seem VERY real!

Yay!! Getting closer 🙂 I cannot wait!! I love what you said about listening to our bodies, they truly are so smart…just gotta listen! So glad you're doing well for the most part…can't wait to see what the nursery looks like 🙂

Can't wait to see the new house and the nursery when it's all set up!

So true about listening to your body! I didn't have that problem when I was pregnant, I knew that I could do everything (to a point) that I did before I was pregnant and prided myself on safely continuing with Crossfit with modifications until the end.

You and Liam have to come for a visit 🙂
I think with A I did okay, but still quit running early and stuck to a lot of prenatal workouts thinking I should not do much more, when I probably could have!

You look great! I ended up not working out during my pregnancy mostly due to lack of energy and severe hip pain, but I really hope that for any future pregnancy, I can continue to be active. But yes, we should always listen to our bodies, pregnant or not! Which i'm pretty sure we don't often do. Can't wait to see the new nursery once you move!

Thanks Brie! I have found working to help me a ton, even with my hip pain – it is not really bad but very annoying this time around but yoga and running (oddly) help to ease it.
I am excited to see it! haha. I just want to plan and shop for it 🙂

You are so adorable pregnant! I loved being pregnant both times but it was definitely harder the second time with less rest and a toddler to care after!

I can't wait to see C's room and her name reveal! What happens at the CS consult?

Thank you! I do not feel cute, just huge lol! I liked it a lot more the first time, but it is not horrible by any means (heck I have not evern said I am done after this!).
I am not sure really, I have another u/s, so we go over that, book a date for the section and then I think I actually meet with her for the last few weeks vs the normal clinic.

You look fantastic!!! I should ask about when I get a date or how that works.. I know if I'm scheduling a c-section it is my OB that does it, so I am guessing it depends on his OR time, but not a bad question to ask. I'm excited to see how the room turns out and to see pics of the new. House too!!

Are you doing a c-section? Here they book when they know the OR schedule so 4-5 weeks before your due date. I also meet with my surgeon from then on our versus my regular prenatal clinic.
