Baby K – Weeks 13-14

What is Baby K up to? We are now the size of a lemon, about 3.4” in length and has doubled its weight in the past week, which may explain the bump I now have Smile

How I am doing? Pretty darn good. Looking back while I have had most of the typical pregnancy symptoms, they have all been short lived so I am thankful for that. I have headaches still but they seem to be getting less often. I also had my first ever nose bleed during my 13th week but I guess that is common – who knew?!

Weight gained: 3-3.5lbs, which is right on track.

Workouts: Great! I am still at the gym 3 days a week with 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of weights. Then one day a week at home for 30 minutes or a outdoor run. Then I have prenatal yoga once a week for 75 minutes taking me to 5 days a week.

Movement: Not yet! I have felt some tummy flutters but I think its too early and this could be many things!

Food Aversions/Cravings: Still getting better. There are days that I really want certain foods and then days I do not want foods. Still on the no go list – seafood, dates and any type of sweetened coffee. What I am loving? Subway, hummus, almond butter and salads!

Sleep: Good! I have more energy so can stay up past 9pm so now I average about 8 hours of sleep a night.

Stretch marks? Nothing yet. Still using coconut oil and live clean baby and mommy massage oil daily to keep them at bay!

Miss Anything? My clothes still. I am at the awkward stage, my clothes do not fit or if they do do not look right, maternity clothes are too big so I am stuck with a limited wardrobe for the time being.

Fun and/or Interesting Things from the Week: Only the nose bleed!

Baby Items Purchased: Our first set of cloth diapers, we found a a great deal on Zulily of a new to us brand called Awesome Blossom. I Google the brand and found a few reviews, all which were awesome.

More on cloth diapering….

This idea started with Chad. He is VERY environmentally conscious which meant I had little say in this. I was 100% on board though. Becky has been a great source of advice, along with other blogs that have talked about and reviewed cloth diapering. We are also going to take a cloth diapering workshop in the next bit to learn more but here is the plan so far:

Buy 24 diapers – one size pocket style in 3 different brands. The hope here is that if one brand does not work out we can sell them off and buy more that do and still have some to work with. From reading reviews it sometimes comes down to the baby and how the diapers fit them so you cannot just go from reviews. The one size means that usually the baby will fit into the diaper around 8-9lbs, so if the baby is smaller than that to start we will use disposables. I will have some no matter what to use as we get into cloth diapering.

The process itself seems simple enough – dirty diapers go into the wet bag, that gets tossed into the wash every couple of days, you run a cold cycle, then a hot cycle with detergent and lie them flat to dry.

I also think cloth diapers are SO cute Winking smile

Looking Forward To: Still the gender ultrasound….and yes we do have “a feeling”….

Week 14, the only shorts that fit me at workout ones! Sorry about the squinty eyes –it was bright out!

    Your hair looks awesome!

I remember getting a really bad nose bleed when I was pregnant too. I rarely get them but this one was terrible. I was so late for work because of it, haha. Pregnancy is ridiculous.

This reminds me I still need to work on a vlog about our diaper process. Maybe this week.

What a cute little bump. We cloth diaper too and I really enjoy it. I'm on my 4th cloth diapered baby. We've had our bumps in the roads but I wouldn't have it any other way.
