Weekend Snapshots

A day late that is! I was darn tired Sunday night and opted to delay this post and to be honest almost did another day but then it would have never been done.

Saturday we had a long walk to visit a couple parks, we are lucky to live close to the trails and these parks but don’t get out to them enough! Despite the clouds we only had about 5 minutes of rain 🙂

Slightly tired after 😉

Sunday morning I was up bright and early to head to the Edmonton Lululemon 10km race! The race itself was great, Lululemon put on an awesome race – just like Sea Wheeze and I cannot wait to go back next summer. I was in the first corral so dealt with minimal congestion which was an added bonus.

The course lived up to what I read it was, fast and flat, with only one small hill. It was an out and back course – my favourite for a few reasons with some straight away that allowed me to keep a decent pace.

I was pretty even with my splits, 30 seconds slower the first half, probably due to the start congestion. It is amazing how fast a 10km course goes, and I barely remember most of the race! I finished at 46:26 – a new 10km PR for me by 2 minutes!

Finish line, sadly all my finish line photos look to have a flare 🙁

Sadly, all my finish line photos look to have a flare 🙁

Afterwards, I grabbed some food, checked out the vendors etc before meeting other friends running the race! There was post run yoga but since I had a busy day ahead I hit the road early to get home.

Post race photo with Leigh:

That afternoon we went to the fair – a summer highlight for us! The girls loved the rides, and it made our day that they can now go on rides together!

Avery fell in love with this little guy at the petting zoo:

Our family photo attempts:

I cannot believe it is heading into the end of July already – how!? I think I am in denial!

2016 Race Calendar

How is it already time to talk about spring and summer races?! I love every race season and typically my goal is one race a month. This is for a few reasons, training time, money – races are $$$, and scheduling – I like my weekends free in the warm months!

I will talk more about training in April since I do need to make a few training plans but for now I am sharing what I am currently registered to run.

May 2016 – Only Women’s Fitness Fun Run – 5km

Not really a run since I will not even be cleared TO run but it is the thirds year my Mom and I have done this run. It will be Avery’s second year doing her 100m diaper dash.

June 2016 – Troubled Monk Run – 10km

This is about one month after I am cleared to run so 10km might be ambitious but it is going to be a fun run so I am not worried about it. Chad, a bunch of friends, co-workers are running it too and it includes beer after!

July 2016 – Lacombe Half Marathon – 10km

Registration has not opened up yet but I am going to sign up for this race and attempt a 10km PR 🙂

Avery and I before last year’s race, I finished in 50:43.

August 2016 –Mud Hero

This is always a fun race, I run it with friends (Chad is too fast for me at this one!) and have a great time. Spoiler alert – I am also an Ambassador for it this year!

September 2016 – Canmore Half Marathon – Half Marathon

My first half of 2016!! And probably my only! I wanted to run a half but also did not want to be too consumed with it after having baby so the timing for a fall half seemed perfect. It will be a little get away for our family as well.

Baby K-2 – Weeks 37 & 38

Well everyone it has been a slice BUT this is my last pregnancy update with Miss.C since in 6 days this little girl is going to make her appearance!

What is Baby K up to? C does not stop moving. I mean ALL day long – total opposite of Avery in pregnancy. I am guessing she weighs at least 6.5 lbs by now if not more from what the doctors have told me.

How am I doing? I am so ready to be done. Evenings can really suck right now and I am uncomfortable due to Miss. C being pretty low. Saturday morning I was not doing so good, and thought possibly there could be a baby arriving soon but thankfully everything let up.

Weight gained: 19lbs. Still climbing even though my appetite these days has gone out the window!

Workouts: 4-5 a week but just prenatal workouts – Tracey Anderson and Beachbody Active Maternity series and treadmill walks.

Movement: See above, this girl loves to move. I get arms and legs poking out of my stomach a few times a day!

Food Aversions/Cravings: Nothing, I am so done with food right now, I can barely eat/drink anything without feeling over full and uncomfortable.

Sleep: As good as it gets at this point, 2 wake-ups to pee usually. I cannot wait to sleep on my tummy again!!

Miss Anything? YES – everything if I am being honest.

Maternity Clothes: I am done to two pairs of pants that do not bother me, and maybe 6 shirts that fit okay. Again, I am counting down to when I can wear my normals clothes again and have already packed away 70% of my maternity clothes.

Baby Items Purchased: Nothing!

Other Things from the Week: My Mom and I spent Good Friday stocking my freezer with meals and baking which will be nice to have after baby. At my doctor’s appointment they confirmed she is in position 2/5 which explains the pains I get all the time now. I have one more doctor appointment today and that is all!

Long Weekend Recap

I hope everyone is enjoying their long weekends, we sure have even though the it rained (and snowed!) Saturday.

I had the day off work to prep and have our garage sale. The day started off with a craft (for Father’s Day) and a sink bath. Of course Avery did not want to leave the sink so that turned into a 30 minute activity itself.

My Mom, Avery and I spent the rest of the day getting everything ready and had the garage sale set up late afternoon. Avery loved running around the yard checking everything out.

We called it quits around 8:30pm and of course still had people show up after.

We woke up to rain and the forecast looked like it would rain all day so we postponed the garage sale day 2 until Sunday. We spent the morning going to the market (and getting really wet) and running errands.

In the afternoon I went with my Mom to get all our garden plants and flowers and am hoping to plant them all today. We spent the rest of the rainy afternoon hanging out at home staying dry.

PS Out of 100 photos taken this day there are maybe 5 not blurry ones!

Chad and I had a movie gift card that was about to expire so decided to go to see the new Avengers movie. We had my Mom over for supper then she stayed with Avery while we went to the movie. Thanks Mom! The theatre was SO busy, I spent 30 minutes in line for popcorn! The movie was good, but nothing special. Once I got home I made up new garage sale signs and then went to bed for my early wake up call…

So I kind of forgot this in my Friday post but I had a race yesterday! It was my first official 10km race. I have ran 10km fun runs but that is all. I was up at 6am to get ready and leave by 7am since the race started at 7:45am.

I took no pre-race photos, no race photos and nothing after – HA, great blogger, right? And since I will do a race recap Wednesday I will leave race happenings until then, maybe they will have photos by then so I can get one up.

After the race we headed home where my Mom was already setting up the garage sale. The rest of the day was spent doing just that. Avery did so good all day but was really tired and had a 2 hour morning nap and 90 minutes in the afternoon.

My view all afternoon:

She was so amazed by the ladybug she found:

She kept running around the yard yelling “buggy”. Too funny.

She is also currently obsessed with money, and loved “counting” it all afterwards.

We have started giving her quarters for her owl bank for helping us with chores, which is too fun to watch her be so excited that not only can she help us but also get money for it. The plan is to create a goal chart so she can see her saving progress. I know we are THOSE parents, for now.

Nothing else to report for the day/weekend, between the race, garage sale and normal weekend happenings we kept busy. Today, my plan is to plant my garden and flowers since it is supposed to be nice out. Here is what I will be planting, after photos to come!

How was your weekend?
