Foodie Friday

Friday…again. Do not get me wrong I love weekends but these days I swear it is Tuesday and then Friday!

This week… Monday night we had our final walk through with our tenants – feels great to have that done, now hopefully everything is settled there for now. Tuesday after work we worked out – I feel so much better and sleep better with some movement in the evenings. Sitting on the couch just is not for me right now – I get all achy. Wednesday I baked these new to me “Aussie bites“. A co-worker told me about how she loves them and buys them at Costco. I am not one to buy premade items like this but thought “I can make them!”, found a recipe a voila. I bought one for my co-worker to try and she brought a Costco one for me. We both agreed the ones I made – 100x better, I actually do not know if I could eat the Costco ones, they were really sweet! Thursday I had book club which is always fun to get out for an hour or so, maybe at next meeting I can drink!

I cannot forget the highlight of the week, seeing Miss.C via ultrasound:

Those lips!! More on the appointment next week :

And lunch out after with Chad at Nandos – SO yummy!

Aussie bites:

Moving on to meal planning. So I had a discussion with my co-worker on iron (I have been extra tired some days) and since I do not eat red meat people assume iron is an issue for me – so wrong! Beans which we eat a ton of has a higher iron content than red meat. But saying that it did remind me to add more beans into our diets as well as other iron rich foods.

foodie friday

Saturday – Ordering supper to my house for my Grandma’s birthday…(do not get me started on this!)

Sunday – Wild Rice Salad (package) & Avocado Turkey Burgers (the love nerds) – doubling the burgers to freeze

Monday – Quick & Easy Creamy Tomato Pasta – Oh She Glows

Tuesday – Roasted Chickpea Greek Wraps

Wednesday – 12 Minute Chicken and Broccoli with Quinoa – gimme some oven

Thursday – Hearty Black Bean Quesadillas – Budget Bytes

Friday – Smoked Gouda Grilled Cheese with Arugula and Roasted Red Peppers – Beachbody Blog

This weekend…Not doing a heck of a lot! I am savouring these quieter weekends after all the moving business and before MIss.C joins us. We are having my family over for my Grandma’s birthday Saturday afternoon, then I plan to hang some things in the livingroom and get moving on the nursery!

Baby K-2 – Weeks 31 & 32

Did I really just type that I am 32 WEEKS PREGNANT?!

What is Baby K up to? This little gal is growing and loves to take up every space of realty she can get at. Avery was much more compact I think 😉

How am I doing? Well at 30/31 weeks pregnant I survived moving! I think that is a feat in itself. My back bothers me near the end of the work day from sitting, so I need to get up and move more.

Weight gained: 15lbs.

Workouts: I got in a couple run/walks since my toe did start to feel better, I kept them short and slow at 2 miles. I also have been doing Fix workouts, Pump and other weight workouts at home. I have noticed this to help a ton and have kept a lot of tone this pregnancy. I still get to yoga weekly with more modifications weekly and got to a couple spin classes too.

Movement: Yup, she still finds a way to get up into my ribs a lot!

Food Aversions/Cravings: I have had a sweet tooth lately so trying to tame that as much as possible with healthier snacks.

Sleep: Better than a couple weeks ago most nights I do not wake up and sleep 7-8 hours a night.

Miss Anything? My six pack…that I never had… 😉

Maternity Clothes: No change really. I am finally fitting into a few maternity tops that I had from before though I wore one and my co-workers told me it was too big on me. Small frame problems!

Baby Items Purchased: Nursery stuff! Now that we are moved I can finally start her nursery 🙂 I will wait and share in the reveal which should be in the next month.

Other Things from the Week: I was reading this update from my pregnancy with Avery – BAD IDEA. I said “nursery is done, clothes are washed and put away” WHAT?! Second child (and moving) problems, but I literally threw things into the room until last week when I spent a couple hours organizing things and made a “to buy” list. I also realized that having kids of the same gender but opposite times of the year does not save money, poor C is going to be in fleece PJs and sweater dresses in July 😉

And for fun, 32 weeks with Avery:

Baby K-2 – Weeks 29 & 30

What is Baby K up to? Growing like a weed! She is probably close to 3lbs and 16″ in length – so crazy.

How am I doing? Good, I am much more uncomfortable this pregnancy though. With Avery most days I really felt like my non-pregnant self. But this time I know I am pregnant daily 😉 Evenings are the worse, so I have been working on ways to help that out (see below).

Weight gained: 14lbs give or take. The past couple of weeks my weight has been up and down from a gain of 12-14lbs, so not sure what I am at since it changes daily. At my last doctor appointment, they said I had a .5lb gain in a month but according to my tracking I had a 4lb difference – so yeah NO clue there.

Workouts: haha, well this changed with my toe injury… For now, there is no running 🙁 I still will try and run again later this week and see, if not I have come to terms with it being over for now. I have not got to spin in two weeks because I cannot wear shoes without pain still. So what have I been doing? Les Mills Pump, 21 Day Fix workouts (minus lunges) and yoga.

I also have found that working out in the evenings after Avery is in bed makes me feel and sleep so much better versus sitting on the couch for 2 hours. Chad and I have agreed to do this two nights a week, and it is going great and we enjoy working out together – I think he enjoys laughing at me 😉

Movement: Yup, ALL day long!

Food Aversions/Cravings: I cannot really think of much, I have not ate any seafood since getting pregnant since the thought of it is just plain horrible.

Sleep: Could be better but probably as good as it gets at this point. 1-2 nights a week I wake up at 1am and cannot get back to sleep for 1-2 hours. It was the same with Avery and I actually remember getting more sleep after having her! haha

Stretch marks? Nope.

Miss Anything? Just having more energy and feeling good all the time!

Maternity Clothes: No change, still a mix, pants are all maternity usually and tops are usually regular tops still since maternity shirts just do not fit me well.

Baby Items Purchased: More clothes! Sorry no photos – it is all packed!

Other Things from the Week: I am down to 5 prenatal appointments – that is it! So crazy how fast time has gone.

I admit I saw this photo and thought WHOA. haha. I blame the shirt 😉 This last week I have been told by so many people how basketball like I am and I could not agree more.

Baby K-2 – Weeks 27 & 28

What is Baby K up to? She is starting to develop more fat and is probably over 2lbs!

How am I doing? Not bad, I feel much more done with pregnancy this time around, with Avery I really had it easy or maybe I just had a lot more chances to rest! I am doing good still, just the normal pregnancy aches and pains 🙂

Weight gained: 12.5bs. For comparison this is the exact same gain as with Avery but the scale number is 5-6lbs lower since I weighed less this time when I got pregnant. I am guessing I will still gain up to the same scale number (132lbs) with this baby as with Avery so my pregnancy weight gain might be higher this time around.

Workouts: No change here really, 4-5 a week, of the same things BUT I did want to talk more about working out in pregnancy. I was enlightened after I attended a yoga class with a new to me instructor.

I am one to over think everything all the time. My mind can really get the best of me. But in this pregnancy I have learned to quiet my mind a lot better and listen to my body. This has allowed me to continue running as well as my yoga practice with only minor adjustments. I have really found that trusting my body to tell me when to back off has allowed me to do things I might have usually stopped by now thinking I should not do them. I do realize there is a fine line here and this is not about pushing myself in any sense. Our bodies are so smart, and they are capable of so much more than most of us know or realize – usually because our minds get in the way! I can say for certain that in the past 5 years I have accomplished so much physically that I would have never in a million years thought I could have without simply trusting my body – pregnant and not. So the next time your mind gets in the way, trust your body and the signals it sends you on what you should versus should not do, and I know you will surprise yourself 🙂

Movement: Yup, ALL day long!

Food Aversions/Cravings: Nothing really!

Sleep: I would like 9 a night but probably getting 7-8 if I do not wake up in the middle of the night.

Stretch marks? Nope.

Miss Anything? Just feeling not pregnant!

Maternity Clothes: Still a mix of both. I hate maternity pants and panels in general so at home spent a lot of time in yoga and sweat pants.

Baby Items Purchased: C’s crib sheets, which I will share once we move and start to set up the nursery and a few small nursery items. I am trying not to shop a lot until after the move.

Other Things from the Week: I have another ultrasound booked and my surgery consult for the end of February, which makes things seem VERY real!

Foodie Friday

First off, thank you for all the congratulations on baby k-2, we are thrilled to welcome another little girl into our family and I can say I am two for two on guessing the gender 😉

Now that we know it is a little girl, we can share a tiny bit more info on her, specifically her name! We have a name 100% chosen so she will now go by Miss. C 😉 Cannot share all the secrets before. The ultrasound was also solved a little mystery of Miss. C – I barely feel kicks! Avery would kick so hard at this point my stomach would visibly move, but this time I feel movement and maybe a couple kicks ever. Well, this little one is facing inwards, so kicks are all inside versus facing my stomach. She is also curled up like a little turtle. Explains the no kicks and pressure I feel for sure. She is growing right on track for our due date as well 🙂 Always such fantastic news to hear that!

Miss. C:

Our week was filled with a couple work events, and last night we took Avery out to a local Christmas parade since we do not have one here anymore.

She loves Christmas lights but the parade was not her thing, or maybe it was the cold (-8 lol). Either way we got to see the parade and then checked out a awesome little market they had going inside. We also met my Grandma there which made Avery and her happy to spend time together.

Onto meal planning for next week. I need idea you guys!! So if you have any leave links in the comments 🙂
