Foodie Friday

Well we survived the first week back from holidays! Both girls have been beyond tired this week which means some extra grumpiness ๐Ÿ˜‰ Avery has been in half day daycamp as well this week which added to it all but she has enjoyed it! Oh and Miss. Chloe is getting all 4 2 year molars ๐Ÿ˜‰ Send the wine!

Monday after work:

Later we went for a walk and she was not pleased:

Chloe loves sidewalk chalk right now:

AND I finally got a new phone, so naturally tested out the camera – after all, that is what phones are for now, right?!

Lazy evenings:

Besides that I got in a spin class, a run and a home workout – more than enough for me this week!

Moving on to meal planning:

Saturday – Greek Turkey Tacos – Whitney Bond

Sunday – Black Bean burgers & kale salad

Monday – Ginger Shrimp Stir Fry with rice – Calluna Nutrition

Tuesday – Cauliflower, Kale & Sausage Bowl –ย Calluna Nutrition

Wednesday – Pesto Spaghetti with Roasted Asparagus

Thursday – Roasted Veggie Fajita Rice Bowls – Sweet Simple Vegan

Friday – Easy Grilled Chicken (Damn Delicious) & Greek Salad & garlic toast

This weekend we have a pancake breakfast to go too, and not much else planned – yet! Hopefully some R&R n the sun ๐Ÿ™‚

Foodie Friday & Holidays Recap

So I am cheating and sharing two posts in one this week to play catch up ๐Ÿ™‚ I was on holidays this week so in addition to finishing the backyard we also took a couple days to go camping at a nearby lake – first time camping a a family – in a tent!

First up yard photos! Chad did 90% of the work since between potty trips, snacks and other things I was limited help! We just have some large decorative rocks to buy – or maybe find and but the yard is 95% done!

It is 80% perennials which is new to us! Then we added a third tree and some bushes. We did not do the landscape plan since we have no idea on these things. We are so happy with it all turned out!

Since I had the week off and we hoped the yard would be mostly done we decided to book a one night camping trip – Avery has been asking for a very long time! I booked one night at a lake that is only 20 minutes away. Overall it went good – I am not a camping fan but being at a lake I could not complain plus the girls loved it! Wednesday on the way out we stopped for a game of mini golf since we had an hour to kill before check-in.

Once at the camp site, we set-up, made supper, then went for ice cream, to the park and a walk at the lake. Chad and I had hopes of staying up enjoying the fire but Chloe decided not to sleep and we were all tired so all ended up in bed by 10!

ย

Spot Chloe? She was supposed to be sleeping!

Wednesday morning Chloe was up at her normal 6am (yawn) so we had an early start! After a slow morning around the campsite we packed up to spend the day at the beach!

It started out cloudy and windy but turned out to be a hot day!

Now switching to meal planning! I sort of took this week off from any type of healthy eating to ready to jump back into things with better eating habits.

Saturday – OUT

Sunday – Peanut Tofu Buddha Bowl – Delish Knowledge

Monday – Toasted Veggie Sandwiches (Calluna Nutrition) & kale salad

Tuesday – Chili Lime Chicken drumsticks (Calluna Nutrition) with grilled veggies

Wednesday – Fish Tacos with mango salsa – Lemon Tree Dwellingย

Weekend plans include a bike ride, the Farmers Market and I am running a half marathon Sunday!

Foodie Friday

First day of holidays! I am on holidays for the next ten days – we do not have much planned besides a lot of landscaping a night camping.

This week we had a huge milestone – we (meaning Chad mainly) potty trained Chloe. Chad was off so we figured we would go for it and she nailed it. We had accidents the first morning and none since! It was also her last Mommy & Me dance class:

Since we have been more or less stuck at home with the three day potty training method we have spent a lot of time in the backyard since C is not in pants, just “big girl” underwear!

I am in disbelief we could be done with diapers forever now! Ahhh!

So this week I am back to flying colo on the meal planning thing, but since we did miss some of the suppers from our meal plan service with Calluna Nutrition I am going to try them and incorporate some of our other faves, there were a lot!

Saturday – Family Potluck

Sunday – BBQ – Black bean Burgers

Monday – Grilled Chicken Fajita Kabobs & rice – Real Housemoms

Tuesday – Crispy Coconut Chicken Fingers with mixed greens – Calluna Nutrition

Wednesday – Camping!

Thursday – Chicken Burrito Bowls – Dinner at the Zooย

Friday – Shrimp Asparagus Pesto Pasta – Calluna Nutrition

I cannot believe it is Canada Day long weekend! We have a ton planned, landscaping, a family reunion/potluck, Canada Day BBQ and fireworks and more!

Wishing everyone a safe and fun long weekend!

Foodie Friday

psHappy Friday – and second day of summer! This week has definitely felt like summer and we took a mid-week break for a needed back day ๐Ÿ™‚

Monday night we went for a short walk/bike ride. Avery wanted to try out Chloe’s (much too small) strider bike and really liked it, the goal is two wheels soon but it is mind over matter for her right now. Post supper cookies:

This photo from dayhome is too funny not share – typical Chloe ๐Ÿ˜‰

Wednesday morning the girls and I hit the beach bright and early. I prefer weekday beach mornings, it is not too hot for the girls and nobody is there! My grandma also joined us.

Chloe was not too sure of the water and preferred playing in the sand. My Grandma trying to get her to put her feet in the water:

We left just before lunch to get home for lunch and naps but neither girl made it home awake!

Onto meal planning – my last week with Calluna Nutrition’s plansย and recipes (for now!):

Saturday – OUT

Sunday – Shrimp Zoodle Stir-fry

Monday – Greek Chicken Salad

Tuesday – Vegetable Chow Mein & Chicken

Wednesday – Asian Lettuce Wraps

Thursday – Grilled Pineapple & Chicken Salad

Friday – Black Bean & White Fish Wraps

This weekend – Chad is playing in a ball tournament, I am doing a takeover of the 5km local Foam Fest run – check it out here tomorrow and that is it – for now!

Foodie Friday

I have no idea where the weeks go, every week I plan to get out for more bike rides and park trips and then it is Thursday night! This week was filled with meetings, Chloe had dance and some catch up on our zzz’s.

Chloe (and Avery) before dance:

The reason I need more sleep:

This will be our third week of our meal plans through Calluna Nutrition and I have to admit I will be lost without them in July! It has been so nice not think of these things and have all my meals and snacks planned out every single day. My goal has been sticking to the plan during the week and on weekends I am more flexible. So far I have seen great results – and actually lost weight – even though this was not the intention. I find I am way less hungry now too!

All recipes are through Calluna Nutrition’s meal plan service:

Saturday – Spiced Salmon Kabobs & qunioa

Sunday – Chili Lime Drumsticks with zucchini and mixed greens

Monday – Warm Spinach Pesto & Chickpea Salad (might add chicken smokies for the girls and Chad)

Tuesday – Penne with Busted Cherry Tomato Sauce

Wednesday – One Pan Sole & Asparagus with rice

Thursday – Ginger Tofu Stir Fry

Friday – Chicken fingers & fries

This weekend we have a 10km race, then some yard work if the weather cooperates – not sure what we will do Sunday yet as I am leaving thaup to Chad ๐Ÿ™‚
