Happy Friday! The longer days this week have been the best – I feel like a new person when it is still light out at 7:30pm and the girls are going to bed!
Playing in our bed before stories 🙂
We also got out for a walk Wednesday night, it looked beautiful out but there was a cold wind! We did no last long since none of us were dressed for it – oops!
I am getting back into workouts with BBG workouts, spin & yoga. Unfortunately I have strained my foot so running is off the table right now – I am sure some rest & TLC and I will be as good a new 😉
Moving onto meal planning!
Saturday – Chicken Fajitas
Sunday – Thai Peanut Chicken Quinoa Bowls – Iowa Girls Eats
Monday – Penne with Spinach and Chicken Sausage – Savy Saving Couple
Tuesday – Honey Garlic Chicken Stir-fry – Dinner at the Zoo
Wednesday – Greek turkey burgers & sweet potato fries
Thursday – Slow Cooker Cilantro Lime Chicken Tacos – Belle of the Kitchen
Friday – Pizza night!
This weekend I finally can get to another Pound class taught by Becky and then my Mom and I had plans to go to Ikea out of town but I think Mother Nature might have other plans for us!
It has been a bit but I am back with a Foodie Friday post 🙂 We got home late Wednesday (midnight) and woke up Thursday to no food – fail on my part! A few hours of grocery shopping later and we are good to go!
Backing up a few days (and more!) to share more from our trip. The last couple of days were spent in the sun and pool. Avery is a fish now and Chloe warmed up to the pool.
Heading to the airport!
I also finally got the photos off my camera, so here are some I had to share:
Okay onto meal planning!
Friday – Chicken Smokies & Quinoa Salad
Saturday – Black Bean burgers & salad
Sunday – Bruschetta Grilled Chicken Bowls – Whitney Bond
Monday – Vegetarian Spaghetti – Family Food on the Table
Tuesday – Slow Cooker African Peanut Stew – The Girl on Bloor
Wednesday – Vegan Mediterranean Wraps & sweet potato fries – The Stingy Vegan
Thursday – Slow Cooker Pork Banh Mi Rice Bowls – Skinnytaste
Friday – Chicken Spinach Flatbread – Valentina’s Corner
We don’t have much for weekend plans, spin class, visit with friends and family – and finally no marathon training!
I hope everyone had a great Valentine’s Day! Avery woke up yesterday morning asking if it “had to be over” – I am like a kid that way and live for holidays!
We got the girls a few goodies, my Mom spoiled them (of course) then did our tradition of pizza and cupcakes for supper, Chad’s (sweet) tweet 😉
Chad nailed it with a simple gift of flowers and Mini Eggs:
Besides that it was a quiet week.
Can I share my excitement that not only is it a long weekend now, but I also have a short meal planning week! Because holidays are here for us! So this week is all about using up our food.
Saturday – Supper at my brother’s
Sunday – Salmon burgers & Greek Salad
Monday – Chicken Fajitas
Tuesday – Vegetable stir-fry
Wednesday – Leftovers
And then we are outta here!
Our weekend includes a spa afternoon for moi, visit with my brother and his girlfriend, fireworks, and of course running 😉
This winter has been a tad much, from some darn cold temps to now what seems to be endless snow I think everyone is more than ready for spring! Or a warm holiday 😉
My winter/snow pout:
Besides hibernating every minute we can this week (darn work getting in the way!), we have kept busy with finishing Avery’s Valentine’s – proud Mom moment that she did all 17 by herself! We made slime Monday night, which has kept the girls busy while I make supper – win!
Since we are getting close to holiday countdown I am starting to try and use up all our fridge food now so that we are not wasting a ton. And I found some new to us recipes for this coming week!
Saturday – Pizza Roll Ups & salad – Budget Bytes
Sunday – Chicken Pot Pie Soup & cornbread muffins – Gimme Some Oven
Monday – Chicken Kale Caesar Wraps & sweet potato fries- Budget Bytes
Tuesday – One Pot Taco Pasta – Damn Delicious
Wednesday – Our tradition is ordering pizza for Valentine’s Day!
Thursday – Bibimbap – Budget Bytes
Friday – Mini Garden Turkey Meatloaves – Budget Bytes
Weekend plans include a hockey game & birthday party!
Happy February everyone! I like February, it is a short month, Valentine’s Day (I am a sucker for every holiday) and vacation month! Which also means marathon month – yikes!
Monday I took it easy after not feeling well on the weekend, Avery had a morning field trip which I volunteered for since was upset I did not join her on the last one 😉 Tuesday I worked a bit late and last night started to work on Chloe’s birthday party theme etc – two months early but I hate leaving these things!
I have also been making my way through this book. I posted it on my Instagram stories saying the “types” the girls are and had a ton of questions. So here it is! I highly recommend it and she has a website too.
Moving into meal planning – I am so ready for it to be BBQ season! I feel like it makes supper planning a lot easier 🙂 And this is from someone who rarely used to use their BBQ!
Saturday – Salmon Tacos – Willowbird Baking – I know I just made these but they are too good not to repeat stat!
Sunday – Superbowl appetizers!
Monday – One Pot Sausage Pasta – Two Peas & Their Pod
Tuesday – Turkey Taco Burrito Bowls – Together as a Family
Wednesday – Hoisin Stir Fry Bowls with Peanut Sauce – Budget Bytes
Thursday – Greek Chicken Wraps – Budget Bytes
Friday – OUT
Weekend plans – Our last 30+km run!!! And Superbowl – Chad is having friends over so the girls and I are hiding upstairs and Avery has said we are having a girls only picnic 😉
