Pinterest Browsing

One of ym favourite things to do when I have down time is to “browse” Pinterest. I probably “pin” way too much, well with over 3,700 pins I do but that is part of the fun!

So here are some recent loves from Pinterest to share:

Paper Plate Christmas Wreath Toddlers Can Make

a craft

Part of my goal through these colder months is doing a craft a week with Avery, this one seemed easy enough and I know she will love colouring the wreath.

I love stumbling across simple ideas like this one, how perfect for a party or treat!

I am obsessed with oatmeal right now, it is one of the only breakfasts that can keep me full more than a couple hours. I saw this one from Minimalist Baker and instantly fell in love, after all it is pumpkin!

Another thing I love about fall? Casseroles. Such comfort food! I saw this pin from Pinch of Yum and instantly knew some of these casseroles would be making their way into my meal plan soon.

I am semi scared about getting cabin fever this winter with a busy toddler. I already see she likes certain TV shows too much so need a lot of activities to keep her busy indoors that are not electronics! This pin has some awesome ideas!

I have tried HARD not to look at nursery ideas until we know the gender but I just had to, some of the looks I am loving…

And to end it this...remember we cannot do it all!

Foodie Friday

Happy Friday!

We had an interesting week over here…I went to get Avery out of bed Monday morning only to find puke everywhere in her entire crib 🙁 I felt so bad that she probably slept ALL night in it without waking up or anything. Such a trooper! She was happy with no fever or other symptoms so thought it was something she ate and off to dayhome she went.

That night she was still herself but refused supper. Which has been all week now. Our little girl who eats everything will only eat foods she does not have to chew basically, though at dayhome she seems to be better. I did stop by the walk in to be safe mid week and between a tummy bug and teething (she is getting 3 molars and a lateral tooth) we figure that is the culprits. I really hope so! She has been her happy self all week though.

This week I had a goal of doing some much need blog work, a few minor tweaks and updates as well as work on my Pinterest board I talked about last week. Which turned into a little re-do and more new boards after reading Tawnya’s post, make sure to check it out bloggers!

Back to my new meal planning board, I changed it up (again), instead each week’s Foodie Friday post will be pinned there so you can look back at all the weekly meal plans in one place. I have only added posts from the start of this year so far, I might add older ones or might not.

I also created this image for anyone that wants to join in on the meal planning fun:

Saying that here is this week’s meal plan, you can also pin the post yourself at the bottom of this post with the Pinterest button (also new!):

Saturday – Loaded Turkey and Hummus Mediterranean Panini – Picky Palate – minus olives because they are evil 😉

Sunday – Chicken Pot Pie Soup – Skinny Taste

Monday – Skinny Honey Lemon Chicken – Gimme Some Oven

Tuesday – BLTS and waffle fries

Wednesday – Tuna Cakes (my recipe), quinoa and roasted cauliflower

Thursday – Avocado Pasta & garlic toast – Damn Delicious

Friday  – Greek Quinoa Tacos – Reluctant Entertainer

No real plans this weekend, just hoping Avery is eating better and feeling good still!

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Foodie Friday

So it is Friday…I totally did not realize it till this morning! Hence, the late post. Ack.

This week has been full of practising my headstands (as you can see if you follow me on IG), Avery practising walking – and learning that walking off stairs is not a good idea – and early bedtimes! Oh an no photos really.

With this week’s meal planning I decided to try something new and create a Pinterest Board that is devoted to my weekly recipes. I will still have links in my Friday posts but this will be somewhere where you can see all the recipes together. I will also have other recipes I am planning to make, or bake, like brunch and cookies 🙂 So make suer to check it out, I will delete the recipes every Thursday and post new ones!

Here is this week’s meal plans:

SaturdaySlow Cooker Minestrone Soup & Cheddar Cheese Biscuits with Cilantro – Two Peas & Their Pod

Sunday – Super Bowl Appys! Pesto Cheese Bread (Two Peas & Their Pod), Tuna Stuffed Peppers (Reluctant Entertainer), Chicken Wings, Chips & Guacamole, plus more I am sure!

Monday – Grapefruit Chicken Satay with quinoa – Iowa Girl Eats

Tuesday – Slow Cooker Santa Fe Chicken – Skinny Taste cookbook

Wednesday – Spinach & Feta Pasta (adding shrimp) – Six Sisters’ Stuff

Thursday – Pesto Spinach,Tomato Quesadilla – the garden grazer

Weekend plans include swimming with Avery, buying stuff for our Valentines Day craft, brunch out with my family and of course the Super Bowl.

Pins Lately

With the change of seasons I always find myself on Pinterest looking for new recipes, home decor and whatever else I find along my way. It has been a while (okay, forever) since I have shared some recent Pins with you all so it is time to share again.

Umm, how cute is this? Chad also loves it so we might need to do this for Baby K’s newborn shoot.

How perfect does this salad look for a fall meal? Quinoa, cranberry almond, grilled chicken salad. This will be on Foodie Friday VERY soon.

I love fall decor like this. Sadly, I do not make this good attempt at our own fall decor. But I can dream Winking smile

pin 3

I really need to do this and have been wondering how to, maybe this can be my next nesting project.

pin 4

Such an easy but equally brilliant idea for storing bibs, you can bet we will do this!

pin 5

I need to find me a sweater like this, it screams fall and would look perfect with skinny jeans or leggings and boots.

What have you Pinned lately?

Anyone ever clean the glass in between in your stove?

In 12 Hours…

Okay so in less than 12 hours we will know if Baby K is a boy or girl, I am beyond excited. Our reveal party is at 7pm tonight so not only do I have to wait all day but so do you guys Winking smile But do not worry there will be a post first thing tomorrow morning. In the mean time I am going to try and keep it off social media.

This weekend I had a few to do’s for the reveal and learned a couple things – one, I am so not a arts/crafts person, I like to think I am but then struggle with the smallest of projects, and two if you ever have cake or cupcakes from my kitchen there is a 95% chance they came from a Betty Crocker mix.

For under $2 I cannot make the type of (consistent) cake these mixes do.

What else were we up to this weekend?

– I went for a cool weather run Friday after work and it was awesome. LOVE running in cooler weather now. I did 4.3km in 26 minutes, not bad since I got stuck at every light possible.

– We helped out at a parade for a work event, and won second place for our fancy decorating skills!

– We went to a BBQ’s at our friend’s house, and there was babies and pregnant girls everywhere! I loved it – for real.

– We worked out yesterday morning, 30 minutes cardio and 30 minutes of weights, then had a yummy brunch. Chad requested overnight french toast which is usually saved for Christmas morning but seeing as it was Father’s Day I made it for him. I tried this new recipe.

The verdict? It is a keeper.

– Scarlet bought Chad a card…

In the inside it says “ I will let you pet me”. 100% Scar, she picked out a good one Winking smile

– We (meaning mostly Chad) helped my Mom cut down some brushes and trees.

– Made another new recipe – Black Bean and Spinach Enchiladas for supper last night and remembered to take a photo after I ate most of it…

Another winner and I think this would be a great freezer meal to prep for when baby is here.

– We started the first of the organizing to move what is currently our office downstairs so that it is ready to get to work on the nursery. This turned into us re-organizing the entire storage room, and we will have to take a trip to the dump next weekend.

And that is about it. The only thing that could have made the weekend better is some sun and less wind.

Do you use boxed mixes ever?

Are you a crafty person?

If so I might hire you to make all the cute baby things off Pinterest for me Winking smile
