Weekend Recap

And like that we have one last day in July – boo. We have been enjoying summer so much that I cannot even think of it not being summer these days!

Friday

I ran after work and got caught in some rain so settled on 7km and headed home. Later we had my family over for my Mom’s birthday.

Saturday

We ran errands in the morning, came home for lunch and nap time then headed to the beach. The usual beach we go to was full but that was lucky since we headed to another that was less busy and spent a few hours there. My Mom joined us as well as a bunch of Chad’s family. It worked out that they were all out at their cabin and camping at the lot so they all came then we headed back to the cabin and stayed for the evening. It was the perfect day!

Chloe beach ready:

Typical I forgot to get a photo of me!

We got home about 9pm and while I wanted to put the girls right to bed they needed baths bad! Baths it was then bed for us all!

Sunday

We are down to the last two Sundays of long runs for Sea Wheeze! And guess what!? We ran a fast 15km and forgot a photo! Chloe and I snapped a photo after while Chad and Avery was grabbing coffee:

We did not have afternoon plans but my Grandma fell last week so we went out to see how she was doing. We are pretty sure she broke she arm and is banged up but she will be okay πŸ™‚

By the time we got home it was supper and then dessert outside:

Four more days of work and then we are on holidays!!

Weekend Recap

I hope you are all ready for a photo dump, I took one too many photos this weekend πŸ˜‰

Friday

Nothing too exciting, I got in a good 7km run once Chloe was in bed. I tried out Tiux compression socks on my run – can you believe I have never tried any before?!

I worried I might feel too hot in the socks but not at all and they fit perfectly (I am wearing a XS) – Tiux is giving my readers 25% off until July 31 using the promo code ARUNNINGTALE – so check them out if you want to try or need compression socks πŸ™‚

Saturday

The typical morning of Costco & errands. Avery spent more of her hard earned money at Costco and got this doll. I never knew one could need so many dolls. Sigh.

Miss. Chloe helping me out with a fun little projects I did (more on this soon!).

After naps we headed out to take the mandatory canola field photos, Avery had been asking and the fields looked at their peak so we jumped at the chance.

Photo overload!

Avery’s dress is from Finn & Grin and Chloe’s Shorts are Prairie Mountain & Co

We came home and set up the pool. Chad may have chased Avery with the hose a few times πŸ˜‰

We had an early supper so my Mom could come over to babysit while we headed to the fair to see a concert. The opener was Jocelyn Alice and then Coleman Hell – who we went to see but we ended up liking Jocelyn Alice more!

We stayed a bit after to have mini donuts and watch the fireworks before going home.

Sunday

We started our run early to spend the day at the fair, we are starting to decrease our long run distance now so did 16km.

We were done by 10am, came home, cleaned up, ate and head to the fair for the day.

Avery did almost all the rides she could, we visited the barn animals, played one game and had our share of treats. Four hours later the clouds rolled in but Avery said she was ready to go home anyways so we headed home.

Chloe was a tad excited for the rides. Next year should be fun when they both can go on them, if Chloe will stay on a ride πŸ˜‰ Kid cannot stay still!

Family photo minus Chloe who was alseep:

I am always a tad sad to see fair week go since it is so fun but we still have a lot of summer fun left!

Weekend Recap

I really wish we had an extra two months of summer – I mean I love all seasons but summer is the best πŸ™‚

Friday

After work I went for a quick 5km run before company came over and we hung out in the yard. My brother and girlfriend showed up later and we had a fire and made s’mores so Avery got to go to bed extra late.

“Hey girls – can I take your picture?” – “Yeah right Mom…”

Saturday

It was the kickoff pancake breakfast for our local fair. It is always busy but this year was crazy – it took us over an hour to get through the line! Good thing they had a lot to do for the kids waiting πŸ™‚

Chloe’s first pigtails:

Avery checking out the firetruck:

We had our pancakes, went through the mall to see the Paw Patrol characters that were there and it was another huge line SO Avery took a peek and was happy – mom win.

Chad golfed in the afternoon so the girls, my Mom and I did some exploring downtown and went to Starbucks.

Chloe’s shorts are from an Alberta company she is a new rep for – Prairie Mountain & Co – are they not the cutest?! Yes, I finally decided to take the plunge into rep world!

Later we headed to supper with my family for a few birthdays (there are too many now so we combine!) and well lets say Chloe is not going out to eat for a long time!

I asked Avery to pose for a photo in her dress – she always picks tree pose πŸ˜‰

We had a quiet night at home watching TV πŸ™‚

Sunday

Avery woke up not feeling too hot (she blamed supper – lol) so my Mom watched them while we did our long run – 19.6km. OY. I am ready to race!

Since Avery was not feeling too great and the weather looked iffy we called the beach off and hung out at home. I was kind of relieved since I had a long to do list and managed to get some things done at home.

Avery’s request was painting and well I will not let Chloe near paint so mess free painting for her!

Chloe and I played in the yard while Avery had a rest:

Supper was my favourite in a long time, grilled chicken, garlic toast and Caprese Salad with Barilla pasta!

Weekend Recap

Our heat wave continued all weekend long – nobody can say we did not have a good summer this year!

Friday

I took the day off since I had a couple appointments and my mother-in-law was visiting from B.C. I had a pedicure in the morning and a hair appointment in the afternoon = day made. In between we went for lunch and took the girls to a park/spray park area but neither wanted in their bathing suits.

Not even sure what we did that night now! I think it must’ve been an early bedtime πŸ™‚

SaturdayΒ

We escaped kid free to do our grocery shopping thanks to Grandma!

We spent the afternoon our at Ellis Bird Farm for their festival with my mother-in-law, my mom, Grandma, Chad’s Grandma and Aunt!

It was hot but the girls had fun, we saw goats, chickens, fished for minnows, built a birdhouse and other crafts too!

Just realized I made it in no photos – fail!

We got home to a finished patio in our backyard! We had landscapers start Friday after work and work their butts off to get it done in 10 hours, so happy with it! This is probably all we will get done this year and finish the rest next year:

Later I headed to a stagette, we did a paint night at a friend’s house then supper.

We called it a night at 11pm – mom life πŸ˜‰

Sunday

Thanks to Grandma again we escaped for a run without the girls! 20km was on the agenda and it was humid! We stopped at 10km, got more water and tossed some on our face which helped a ton. But by 20km we were done.

I thought we might go for a bike ride or the spray park for the afternoon but with storm warnings in place we stuck around home.

I finally broke my camera out for a few photos – I have to do this more!

And that was our weekend!

Weekend Recap

With this week being officially summer I counted the days I had off until September (when to me summer is over) and I have 30 days. Which seems like a lot but at the same time I know it will fly by with summer activities, events and all the other usual weekend/life things. This weekend was a glimpse into our summer…

Friday

I was on the fence if I wanted to run with my race the next morning but decided on a fast 5km, I did 5km in 24 minutes and called it a night! We watched Table 19 later which was not too bad for a comedy.

Saturday

We had the Troubled Monk 10km so spent the morning at the race since it is much more than that – beer, drinks, and music! I will recap the race this week πŸ™‚

Since Chloe napped on the race when we got home she was not having her usual nap so we played outside for the afternoon.

It was the perfect temperature, not too hot with some clouds.

We had my Mom over for supper then later my brothers and girlfriends came over for a games night – I stayed up way too late and might have had a tad too much wine πŸ˜‰

Sunday

Thankfully the girls let us sleep until 7am! We spent a couple hours doing chores etc before heading out for brunch with Chad’s family at his Dad’s camping area. We only spent a couple hours there since after we had a surprise birthday party to attend in another town.

Trying to get a photo before we left, one looked at me, the other looked away – repeat x10, kids πŸ˜‰

Both girls had mini naps on the drive to the party, which was just long enough to power through a couple hours there before heading back home. Both girls fell asleep again on the way home so we took the long way and grabbed iced coffees for the drive.

Our 2017 Father’s Day photo:

I think this guy deserves WAY more than what I pulled together for his day, but I did manage to do these photos for his office:

We had an early supper then headed to the park for an hour before baths and bed.

Such a busy weekend but that is summer! This week is another busy one, we have landscapers coming to go over our yard plan, our neighbours are hosting a BBQ & I need to find a time to have my Grandma visit the girls since we had no time this weekend.
