Foodie Friday

This week has been so darn COLD. I mean freezing! We got spoiled with a beautiful November and winter last year was so mild we had to know it was coming but it also makes it that much harder!


I had a staff Christmas photo in the morning, we took it at the mall in Santa’s area so of course Avery wanted a photo on his chair:


After we stopped at Starbucks, our treat for getting ready and out to door by 8:30am in -30 temps!

It has also made her want to stand all the time. Sigh. I am not even sure what we did all afternoon…



After a rough night for both girls – Chloe came down with a bad cough and Avery was just off I debated skipping yoga but Avery wanted to go, until we got there. Luckily, the teacher is awesome and all turned out ok. I enjoyed a latte while Avery was in class.


Avery continued to have an off day which happens, even dressing up as a princess did not make life better ๐Ÿ˜‰

We decided to meet my Mom for coffee after naps to get out for a bit. Chloe hates the cold, Avery does not mind it!



I had a run on the agenda but Chloe would not nap so I was running 5 minutes at a time and then going up to settle her, after 20 minutes of that I brought her down with me. Thankfully she was good to play for the last 20 minutes:


We had a couple appointments – one to sign up the girls for dayhome and Chloe had a doctor appointment. In 5 weeks she gained 2lbs!!

How Avery insists on wearing a toque, but it is better than her not wearing one!


We did sensory play during Chloe’s nap:


I finally feel like Avery is at a good age for this! Oh and she helped me wrap gifts then later told Chad “Your present is a secret, want to see your shirt?” – thanks kid ๐Ÿ˜‰


My Mom joined us for a morning of swimming, then we had a small lunch at Starbucks:

Both girls passed out on the drive home so I started lunch and baking:

I made cookies for Chad’s treat day today ๐Ÿ˜‰ I definitely do not need more sweets in my house these days!

Later we went shopping for a holiday dress for Avery for a couple special occasions she has coming up, the contenders:


Yeah she picked the pink …of course.

I had book club that night but decided to stay home since I was beyond tired and have parties the next two nights – made me sad not to go though!

Onto meal planning. I have no desire to cook these days, I really hope this passes soon!

This weekend is filled with Christmas parties, princess camp and just the regular old things!


Foodie Friday

DECEMBER!! It was one of those weeks where I felt like we had little to do but it still filled up and flew by! I feel like I am finally getting into a groove with inside activities with the girls – just in time to go back to work ๐Ÿ˜‰


Day one of half marathon training. With the shorter days and the girls I will be doing a lot more of this the next 12 weeks:


This one started to crawl, and is a trouble maker so I now contain her ๐Ÿ˜‰


Speaking of trouble:


We spent the afternoon making cookies and listening to Christmas music ๐Ÿ™‚


Yoga playground, a peppermint latter for me and Chloe got to play on the floor since keeping her in her seat is a no go now:



Chad was home sick so after we ran some errands, including picking up donations for the toy bureau since it was Giving Tuesday. The girls fell asleep in the car so I spent 20 minutes in the driveway:


I let Avery pick out three items all on her own for the toy bureau:


Since Chad was home I decided to go to an early spin class that was a donation class. It was a nice change and after we did a quick core workout too which left me sore for days!

And the highlight of my day, getting my Blogger Christmas Swap package from Jen!


She knows how much I love to bake with the girls and got us the perfect ornament and goodies! Thank you again Jen ๐Ÿ™‚


Another run morning which was my one and only fast run of the week and it flew by! We had a quiet day and spent the morning at home playing and watching a Christmas movie.

After naps we headed out to the chiropractor and for a few groceries then had a quick supper and went to the hockey game:


Being a week night we left a bit early as both girls were pretty tired by 8:30pm.


We started our morning by watching another Christmas movie ๐Ÿ˜‰ SAHM perks! Mid morning we left to my work Christmas potluck lunch and office decorating day.

It started snowing early in the day and did not stop, Avery tried to catch the snowflakes on her tounge:


We spent a few hours there, eating, visiting and decorating. Avery was entertained playing hide and seek with a co-worker:


Between Avery being played with, Chloe being held and loved I was once again reminded how lucky I am to have such a great workplace.

We got home around 3pm, finished up some Christmas card crafts and played.

This weekend… Today was supposed to be my Christmas party but that was changed so we will just have a quiet night at home I am thinking. Saturday mornings get a lot busier this weekend with Avery starting ballet and jazz and Chloe swimming. Then just visiting with some family ๐Ÿ™‚


Foodie Friday

Another Friday. Already. Where do the days go?! Oh right, I run around after the girls all day ๐Ÿ˜‰


A morning library trip, some play time there for Avery then home for the afternoon and we baked squash brownies and muffins. I am not good at being at home for more than a few hours but am slowly working on having slower days.

Yoga in the morning for Miss.Avery and I started on some work things. I decided to use the hour to prep for my return to work in January and get my brain back into work mode. After we ordered A’s birthday cupcakes.

My Mom came over during naps and Avery heard her so did not nap. I do not deal well with no nap days and neither does Avery. Our afternoon was spent checking out Once Upon A Child then watching the Shrek Halloween movie and hanging out at home.

I thought I was ready for fall but these days I really miss spending our days outside, going for walks and to the beach! I need to suck up the cooler weather and get out more!


We ran a few errands in the morning, booked eye appointments for the whole family and wore Halloween gear – I got suckered into shirts for the girls this year.

During nap time I decided to start the playroom re-do and then got caught up re-doing a small rocking chair and chalk table for the playroom. Oh and I added 100 more DIYs to my list…

We spent some time in the yard since the sun was out after naps, I snapped some photos of this girls:

Once Chloe went down for her 4pm nap I got ready for my work gala. Felt good to dress up, do my hair and makeup for a change!

20161019_135426 20161019_170607 20161019_170626 ย Iย left the house for the evening and did not get home until 10:30pm. It was a great evening and made me realize how much I miss my work. I keep telling myself in 6 months I will wish I was home some days so just be happy for now.

I decided to take the girls for an afternoon run which meant an open morning! We met my Grandma for coffee and a visit:

After naps the sun was out so we went out for a quick 6km run. Avery told me a few days ago she wanted to be a runner like me since it makes her strong. I was happy to hear that and know all those hours she was spent watching me run and running with me have been worth something ๐Ÿ™‚

Foodie Friday

This week brought cooler temps and I am not a fan yet. I know I will struggle once it is harder to get out daily since this summer we spent most of our days outside but I am going to make the best of it.


I weighed Chloe that morning for her 6 month post only to find she has not gained much since mid August. Sigh. I just do not want the health nurses to get all worried next week at her immunizations. I know she is fine, she is ahead developmentally and well she just pukes a lot but otherwise happy.

It looked to be the nicest day of the week so we went for to take some photos. It ended up being chilly so we did not last long!

After naps we headed to our dayhome for a visit, Avery told me to leave and go to work so she obviously will not have issues going back there full time ๐Ÿ˜‰

Somehow we finished supper by 6:15pm so packed up and went for a walk. Avery wanted to jump in leaves so Chad brought our rake along:






Yoga playground morning! I look forward to this morning every week, Avery gets some play time and Chloe and I get to hang out and drink a chai latte.



We ran some errands after came home had lunch and then the girls had naps. Nap times went good all week ๐Ÿ™‚

I convinced myself to take the girls for a run and then regretted it for the first km since it was cold and windy. Thankfully we hit the trails and it was way better! I tell myself that my decent weather runs are limited now so I just get out when I can – my goal is 1-2 times a week.



Both girls fell asleep – guess they did not have long enough naps!



A double PiYo workout first thing then I had to go take some photos for a post so we hit up Cool Beans one last time before they close until the Spring. But good news, they have a indoor shop now too!


I am in complete part planning mode here for Avery’s third birthday next month so we took a trip to Michaels to use our weekly coupon after naps. I bought glitter tulle and instantly regretted it…

What else? We made thankful turkeys for a crafts and played with Playdoh:

Oh and I spent time reading my book club book – this one might deserve a review on here.


I got some new makeup in the mail and Avery loved jumping on the bubble wrap, okay I did too ๐Ÿ˜‰


Once Chloe was down for her first nap I hit the treadmill and run my fastest 5km yet – 23:13! I have to say I am still unsure if I will hit my goal for Phoenix in February but am going to try my best! Oh and we booked our flights for a great price ๐Ÿ™‚

Our morning was spent at home , playing and just hanging out.

In the afternoon we headed out to get our last veggie box of the year, I cannot believe I went out to The Jungle Farm every week for 16 weeks! I will miss our trips for sure. The haul:

Weekend plans…we are hosting Thanksgiving at our house Sunday and that is about it! I have a few things I want to get done at home and then we will see how the weather is to plan much else.

Foodie Friday

Lets start with my week. I thought my c-section consult was Wednesday but it was Tuesday so I got a “where are you call” – so embarrassing but I was there n 10 minutes. They did not have the April OR schedule yet and said it could be March 30th UNLESS the OB was booked April 4th. Turns out she is booked April 4th so that is our day ๐Ÿ™‚ While I would have liked to meet her a few days earlier I am fine with this date, and relieved to have a confirmed date. It also gives me one more weekend to prepare for her arrival!

This bump is getting huge you guys!


Avery being a typical toddler, she would wear this nighty every day if I let her… sigh. My rule? Character clothing is only allowed for pjs – I am mean ๐Ÿ˜‰

Tomorrow Avery has her last Sportball class, and it has been fun but we will probably not take any more classes until the fall now and just enjoy the summer doing our own thing. My goal for the weekend is to get some boards stained for a DIY coffee table hack we are doing and sand a side table I will re-do for the livingroom. And on Sunday we have a bowling fundraiser Chad does for work and I might need to eb a sub for –> me bowling right now could be comical!
