Holidays Part II

Our second week of holidays we had some not so nice days, one day it poured all day! In 8 years of going to Phoenix that was only the second day of rain we ever had there. But this allowed us to explore and find fun new things to do. I will do a post later this week on our top to dos in Phoenix! – family friendly of course 🙂

Highlights – our race (recap here), a weekend visit with my friend Priscilla, a zoo trip and Legoland!

It was a great two weeks with very little to do, we made plans on the go, and were rarely rushing around. I have always loved Phoenix and never get sick of visiting there!

This was just a Discovery Ctr but still fun! Next summer we are hoping to do a 3 week road trip down to California and will get to Disney and the real Leogland. I have heard it is best for kids under 6 🙂

There is so much to do here! Do you guys usually rent your own car? I find having access to a vehicle is pretty important here since there isn't much to do within walking distance of my in-laws.

As the kids get older we do different things with them here.

We do! My in-laws only have a Ford Edge so not enough room for all of us. We do a lot on our own too and go to visit friends so it just works out best. Usually I rent one for 8 days or so to keep it a bit cheaper.

My in-laws SUV is only a 5 seater but they have so many relatives/friends down there that if we all need to go somewhere someone just picks a couple of us up! They also have a golf cart that you can drive around the community and it can go on a few of the main roads so that definitely helps with the transportation situation. Before they had the golf cart it was a bit harder to coordinate schedules and everything since my ILs have a pretty active social life down there!

We really want to go to Phoenix one day! We opted to go to Florida again next month instead though as the logistics of going somewhere where family lives is just so much easier with two kids! Looks like you guys had a great time!

Who is in Florida? It's way easier to go where family is! I think the main reason we didn't love Hawaii was because we went alone and couldn't get away to do things kid free.
We want to go back to Florida with the girls one day, maybe do Disney when they are older. We are planning a three week road trip next summer to Disneyland which might be crazy but I'm sure it'll be a trip to remember 😉
