Long Weekend Getaway

We had such an awesome weekend! I saw one of my best friends get married, got to hang out with some of my favourite people and get away for a few days. If I am being honest if was probably one of my top weekends in a long time!

Friday

We hit the road to the mountains around lunch, once in Banff we stopped for a short walk by the river and took photos:

While we wanted to do a hike it was not the weekend to do so – WAY too busy!

Later we went for supper with some friends & their kids – 6 adults and 6 kids! A tad crazy but so fun!

I spent the night helping get the wedding room ready with the other girls πŸ™‚

Saturday

One other bridesmaid and I had hair appointments first thing so she picked me up and we headed to the salon. It was nice to have the quiet morning since the rest of the day was go, go go! We got ready and headed to the brides hotel to finish up and get to the ceremony.

I knew it was going to be a busy weekend in Banff but it was insane! Needless to say most of the day we ran a tad late but there was nothing you could do about it.

The ceremony was beautiful and overlooked the river and mountains.

While they did family photos I took some of the girls – neither of them were having it all weekend:

PS We did get a family photo but others took ti so I will share later!

After we headed to another photo location to take photos with the amazing Whitney CowanΒ and pop some champagne.

The rest of the night was so much fun in every way. Luckily my tribe helped out with the girls all night (well, all weekend!) and my heart was left so full with all the love all night. The girls both passed out on chairs of the reception (parent win!) so we stayed until the bar closed!

The bride and I met 10 years ago at our first jobs and have been basically inseparable since, the photo below are the others we met working there and it is crazy how fast we all became friends and have remained so for 10 years! Such an amazing people.

We got back to the hotel at midnight and called it a night!

Sunday

We all slept until 8am then checked out and headed into Banff to grab coffee and walk around a bit. I may have done some damage at Lululemon so called it done there πŸ˜‰

We had plans to meet another friend at Granary Road on our way home which was so amazing! Totally worth the trip – even if we did get lost! The kids had a blast:

We did not get home until supper so grabbed some groceries, unpacked and had a quiet night.

Monday

I have no photos to share from our holiday Monday! We caught up on life all day, chores, laundry, groceries, visiting with family, and some other errands so that we could enjoy the next coupe of days with the girls before heading to Vancouver!

What a gret weekend you had!

I was in Banff last Thursday but because of the wildfires there was so much smoke! πŸ™ Too bad for us because we don't plan to go back there soon since Quebec is pretty far! πŸ™

This does look like such a fun weekend! I love weddings. Looks like a really beautiful setting there in Banff although too bad it was so crowded.

It was so pretty! Makes for stunning photos! It in insane, especially this year because it is Canada's 150th so park entry is free plus the dollar being low helps tourists come north.

Looks like such a fun and gorgeous wedding. Love that the girls passed out in chairs at the reception! I know a lot of people do no kids at weddings now-a-days but I've always loved seeing kids at weddings because they usually have SO much fun!!

I was happy they did so we could stay and enjoy ourselves! I had a kid free wedding but most of our friends did not have kids then, it would be harder to say that now. This was nice that there was a lot of kids so they all had so much together!
