the running group that I am training with for my May marathon provided us with a training plan, last year when training with the same group for my half marathon I basically followed their plan exactly. however, this year with marathon training being much more time consuming I decided to take their plan and personalize it a bit. I made sure that I kept the total weekly distances the same and then just tailored the program for MOI! Remember, I am no expert when it comes to training plans but I think this is what will work for me.

what do people prefer morning or evening workouts?
I work 8:30-5 and have always gone after work, which means usually be the time I go home, change, get to the gym, workout and get back home its 6:45-7pm, and I still have to make/eat supper, which I don’t exactly love doing every day after work. so next week I going to try to go the gym one morning before work just to see how it goes, I am going to pick a shorter workout and start from there. if it goes good hopefully I can do this at least twice a week for free up some evenings.
moving on, this week has flown by! I was worried the first week back form holidays…but nope its already Friday! thinking back this week, workouts were fairly typical, starting on sunday with my first 14km run outside (in beautiful 0 degree weather), a few 10km runs, some weights and cross-training.
meals… monday we made out favorite crockpot soup ever from souptacular, it is awesome, easy and makes alot – for us (and we eat large portions!) it makes 6 servings and it very filling. traditional bean is where it is at for me. along with that I made wanna-be red lobster cheddar biscuits. chad assures me they are better than red lobster’s but then again he hasn’t had theirs in years 😉 that is how I trick him. kidding…partially. tuesday I worked late and snacked throughout the night for I won’t even mention what I had for supper (biscuit and papple – apple/pear as I call them). wednesday, I made my favorite chili from the eat, drink & be vegan
cookbook – sweet potato, lentil chili – now everyone repeat after me, I will buy this cookbook -click on the above link to do so 😉 it is by far the best cookbook I own, chad agrees even though eating vegan is not is thing, but as he (a meat eater) says you don’t even miss the meat in these recipes.
Question – maybe someone out there can help me here – I want to start a recipe page on here, and post my favorite recipes, whether they are mine, adapted from someone else or simply someone else’s recipes. I want to give the authors in every case full recognition but I don’t want to get in trouble with copyright laws…so if I want to post a recipe from a cookbook, basically the same but in my words and I note the source it is from, is that good enough?
last night was a simple and quick supper, but again a favorite, homemade chicken fingers (this is my creation so I can post the recipe on here!), sweet potato fries and salad – recipe already on here, courtesy of Carrot ‘N’Cake. I do have some meals photographed over the past few days and will post them later today I hope.
tonight, is going to be a low-key friday night, frozen pizza (I know lame but Chads favorite food ever is pizza) and salad for supper, then it’s off to bikram hot yoga for me – for anyone that lives around here you have to check this place out it is awesome! then movie and popcorn night I think!
before I check out – one last question, I am trying to decide what to all post on here for meals – my 3 main meals a day, just the “highlights” aka awesome meals… or what, I am not sure people really want to read about everything I stuff into my mouth, but then again maybe they do. regardless food is going to part of this blog as I love it way too much for it not to be!
