Weekend Recap

I cannot believe it is August 15th! I love summer but fall is my favourite so I am already a tad excited for that. As well this week marks my half way point in my maternity leave – SO crazy!

We went out to Ellis Bird Farm with my Grandma. Long story short, we were there still at nap time and that did not go over well for anyone. But Avery still had a ton of fun, from petting goats and catching minnows (with her bare hands – YUCK).

That afternoon we returned some stuff to Old Navy, and tried to find some things for myself which was a fail. I feel like all their clothes doubled in size or the styles are really baggy. Even Avery said “too big, maybe not Mom” to everything I tried on. Boo.

A beautiful evening called for a walk and park trip:

My brother hooked us up with Netflix so after the girls were in bed we watched The Do Over which turned out to be a good movie.

We made an early trip to the market and once I got there I remembered the hummus guy was not there 🙁 Avery got mini donuts and picked out flowers for her Grandma since it was her birthday party later on.

Oh and total Mom win – I semi did her hair with a cute side braid. This is a big deal to me, I cannot do hair whatsoever so this made my day:

The rest of our Saturday was filled with parties, first a friend’s daughter turned one and then Chad’s step-mom turned 60.

It was a great afternoon and evening and by the time we got home it was after 9pm so we called it a night!

My training plan called for a long run of 18km, I told Chad he and the girls did not need to join for all but he was up for it so off we went. We had no idea how far to go and when to turn around so we ended up doing 19.92km! Poor Chad pushed the girls up the massive hill (below) and then I made him take a photo with me at the top, wife of the year 😉

I was SO proud of Chad and the girls – such great training partners!

Our Sunday was then filled with garage organizing now that our shed is built, house chores and having my Mom for supper – and no photos!

You are rocking your training! And never mind Chad pushing the girls that far – amazing!
I find I struggle with Old Navy sizing. It seems to be all over the place.

Thank you Leslie! I know, he is sore today but 20km with the girls is not easy, 10km is my limit and that kills me!
It is! I just do not get their sizing any more, I might need to give up shopping there soon.

  2. Pretty Little Grub

I find the same with Old Navy. Their sizes are too big and the clothes are boxy. I've given up trying to buy anything there.

I really need to give up on Old Navy too! I feel our shopping options are so limited here though. I used to shop at RW & Co but it closed here 🙁 Where do you shop?

I haven't tried shopping for myself in Old Navy for awhile. I'm not a fan of the styles I'm seeing online and going to the actual store drives me crazy. Why does it ALWAYS look like a tornado went through there?!?! It is so frustrating to me.

I didn't know you could actually go IN with the goats. Liam would have been all over that!

It does, it is such a mess 95% of the time, I buy online and probably return 90% of what I buy. I just do not know where to shop these days!
YES!! There is a gate and people were in there before us so I figured we could too!

Sounds like Avery is a great shopping partner already! 🙂 I love it when I'll put on a dress for church and Swede tells me I look "so pretty Mama!" She also likes to go through catalogs with me and pick out (the brightest & pinkest) clothes she thinks I should buy.
Nice job on 20K! You are going to be so ready for the half marathon!

Awe that is so cute! Avery used to tell me that when I dressed up for work, now workout clothes or tanks and shorts do not get that response from her 😉
I hope so! I am nervous! At the most I am 25 miles a week, usually 20 or so though so I am just scared I do not have the miles I need.

I think baggy is in and I'm not a fan of looking bigger than I am haha. Sounds like a fun weekend!! I soo wish Em would travel better so we could do more fun things throughout the week! At least on the weekend one of us can sit in the back seat with her and attempt to calm her. Poor girl!! Love the pics of the girls!!

Right!? And they are boxy big, I can handle fitted big (if that makes sense) but the styles are just plain bad.
Poor Em! Hopefully car rides get better for her soon!
